Today is my mother’s birthday. Yesterday I went to see my mother since I was traveling to Uruguay.
She was in good health, but asleep. I talked to her telling her that I wished her many more birthdays but I wanted the next one with her awake.
I also told her that I had to leave to Uruguay and will not be back until Saturday. I was hoping for a reaction...I wiped a tear from her eyes but I was not sure if it was because natural causes or because I would not be there for her birthday.
As I was driving toward the airport my uncle Herman called me asking if I was in Florida, I informed him that I was but was traveling to Uruguay. He told me that he along with uncles and aunt would be at the hospital on her birthday to sing to her.
I thought that was a great idea. I called my daughter Malia and told her to get my video camera to record this. My uncle called me today while they were at the hospital and sang Happy Birthday while I listened over the phone. At the time, I was having dinner with a client and could not hold back the tear...
